नई दिल्ली में 2023 के शुरुआती दिनों में, भारत की राजधानी नई दिल्ली में ’50वीं GST कॉउंसिल’ की बैठक आयोजित की गई है।
- GST कॉउंसिल भारत में वस्त्र और सेवाओं पर लागू होने वाले वस्तु एवं सेवा कर (Goods and Services Tax) के लिए निर्णय लेने वाली मुख्य संगठन है।
- इसमें अलग-अलग राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के प्रतिनिधिमंडलों का हिस्सा होता है और यह निर्णय लेता है कि किस दर से GST लागू होनी चाहिए और किस चीज पर कितनी कर लागू होनी चाहिए।
हाल ही में भारत सरकार ने ऑनलाइन गेमिंग और कसीनो के लेनदेनों पर 28 प्रतिशत का GST लागू किया है।
- यह नया कर नीतिगत फैसला ऑनलाइन गेमिंग, ऑनलाइन लॉटरी, कसीनो और अन्य गेमिंग प्लेटफ़ॉर्म्स के लिए लागू होगा।
- यह फैसला ऑनलाइन गेमिंग और कसीनो लेनदेनों को व्यापारिक गतिविधियों के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त कराने के लिए किया गया है और इससे इन सेक्टर्स में कर भरेगी जाएगी।
