1) - The government of Philippines has banned child marriage by making a law. The law banning child marriage has come into force from 06 January 2022. Now parents can be jailed for up to 12 years for marrying a girl below 18 years of age. Let us tell you that one out of every 6 girls in the Philippines was married before the age of 18. According to data from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Philippines ranks 12th among countries around the world for marrying minor girls. ,

2) - The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has appointed Kuwaiti oil executive Haitham Al Ghais as its new Secretary-General, as oil demand continues to improve amid a mild recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. Al Ghis, a veteran of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and OPEC governor of Kuwait from 2017 to June 2021, will take over the reins of the group in August, replacing Mohamed Barkindo.

3) - For the efforts being made in the field of water conservation, Uttar Pradesh has secured the first position in the third National Water Award-2020, while Rajasthan has secured the second position. The Ministry of Jal Shakti gave this information. 11) - Tata Group has become the new title sponsor of IPL, replacing Chinese mobile company Vivo. The Tata Group has signed a two-year deal with IPL as the title sponsor. PTI quoted sources as saying that the Tata group will pay around Rs 670 crore to the BCCI for both the years. At the same time, Vivo will have to pay Rs 454 crore as termination.
